Please join us for Wine & Cheese on Sunday, September 23rd from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the home of Alice Fasano '82, 1 Main Street, South Salem.

Come to our first event of the year and hear about the exciting plans we have planned.  Spend a delightful fall afternoon with Wellesley friends and consider making a day of it to explore South Salem before the event!

South Salem is a hamlet in the Town of Lewisboro, Westchester County, established in 1731.  The South Salem Presbyterian Church, founded in 1752, sits atop a hill overlooking the hamlet surrounded by ancient trees and a historic burial ground for 27 Revolutionary War soldiers.  (This church is adjacent to Alice’s home.)   Across the street is the Horse and Hound Inn, established in 1749, once a stage coach stop on the Old Post Road from NYC to Danbury, now a pub and restaurant.

Alice’s home at 1 Main is an 1842 farmhouse with its own chapter in the book of local history, Lewisboro Ghosts.  Please park in the church lot at 111 Spring Street which adjoins Alice’s property.

Please RSVP to Kelly Germa at or Laura Iverson at by September 15th.

Directions: Take Route 684 North to Exit 6, Katonah Route 35.  Turn right on to Route 35 East. Stay on Route 35 East for 7 miles. Go past the Mobil station and up the big hill on 35.  1/4th mile after the South Salem Fire House, turn left onto Spring Street.  Go 1/4 mile on Spring Street, and as the road turns to the right (at the Horse and Hound Inn) you’ll see the entrance (across street) to the South Salem Presbyterian Church parking lot, left side of Spring. 1 Main Street is the White House just to the left of the parking lot.  Half way up the lot you’ll see a small gate with a sign marked “Wellesley” leading to her backyard.
