Wellesley-in-Westchester Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 17
Before beginning our special program, we will officially welcome our 2017-2018 roster of board volunteers.  As we preview exciting plans for the upcoming year, please share your ideas!  We will feature a dynamic and interactive “Owning our Implicit Bias and Power and Serving as a Champion of Change” workshop.  We are fortunate to have two resident experts on this topic on our Board: - Dorothee von Huene Greenberg ’58, Ph. D., Professor Emerita of English, Pace University; and Elizabeth Derby ’88, Leadership and Diversity & Inclusion Senior Consultant with Jennifer Brown Consulting.

Come learn why “if you have a brain, you have bias” and what you can do to interrupt or mitigate this.  Join us for a lively discussion regarding how each of us can be champions of change in our personal and professional lives and in our broader communities.  For a sneak preview of the topic, we invite you to view the “The Role of Unconscious Bias” video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiDr8RxbDis) or read “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack by Peggy McIntosh, Senior Research Associate of the Wellesley Centers for Women.

We look forward to welcoming you at this exciting event and encourage you to invite other Wellesley-in-Westchester alumnae to attend.  RSVP by Monday, June 12 to Elizabeth Derby at elizabethkderby@gmail.com or call (914) 450-9425.
