Brooklyn Navy Yard Tour
Interested in Sustainable Architecture and Industry? Join us for a tour of the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard, which has been revitalized and repurposed by a not-for-profit corporation. This once derelict industrial park has been turned into a thriving home to dozens of small to large companies that could not find sufficient office or industrial space in NYC anymore. One of their largest tenants is Steiner Studios, a major locus for filming TV and movies in the region and which helps anchor the entire film industry of New York. The Yard is huge, so our tour will be by bus with 3 to 4 stops. We will have both a professional tour guide and a brief talk by the Chief Operating Officer of the navy Yard who is also a personal friend of our club treasurer, Tobe Epstein.
There is a fee for this tour, of $21.50/person. Please RSVP to Tobe Epstein at email@example.com.
• Please bring cash or check made payable to “Wellesley-in-Westchester.” Please note “Brooklyn Navy Yard” on the memo line of your check.
• Specific instructions for driving and parking will be distributed in advance to everyone on the sign-up list.
• Should you wish to carpool, please alert Tobe when you RSVP. We will be happy to put you in touch with other attendees to coordinate arrangements.
